Economic& Socialization skills
This addition to the KMRIA Inc.curriculum provides food for children who come from broken homes where the mom or dad are off to work and no one is left in charge of the young.
Providing a child with basic nutrition so that the individual's intellect may function in a normal pedagogical mode and provide for his better learning.
We attempt to achieve the following with this curriculum:
(1) The adding of the bill at a local restaurant and computing the tip that will be given to the wait person ( i.e. percentage, decimal, fraction). The teaching and mastery of math.
(2) Interaction with others in a public facility. Learning the rules of appropriate behavior.
(3) To become at ease in an adult world and successfully interact with those who occupy the same space
(4) Learning proper conduct and behavior when in public places. Learning to speak correctly and politely when in public.
(5) Learning how to read a menu and practice the attack skills once taught in the reading classes and in KMRIA instruction.
All of the above is put into practice in the Economic and Socialization skills that each child will need to function in the society.
KMRIA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational corporation:
(a) Only the second one to be named without have any physical facilities
(b) Homebound instruction designed for the child whose physical, mental, or emotional needs are not met in the public schools
(c) We meet in local restaurants for dining and instruction. Our 'economic socialization skills' or "feed the children" mandates that no child should have to learn on an empty stomach.
The development of 'Life Skills' is essential in becoming part of the adult world.
All of the 'life skills' are designed to create a better human being.
