Who Are We?

KMRIA's 'STARTING OVER' program
provides Education and Life Skills, for
students who need second chances.

Don McGee aka 'Fibber McGhee' founder and director of KMRIA Inc.

KMRIA is an education alternative for 9-19 year old children who have been suspended / expelled, suffer from medical disabilities, are in special education, or come from abusive homes. It is designed to deal with children in their formative years prior to the introduction of alcohol, drugs or becoming the product of a broken home.

Education , Employment & "Life Skills"
are the major goals of KMRIA.

The program of education, employment, and character building through "life skills" are the integral parts of the pedagogy.

KMRIA teachers must be certified in their discipline(s) by their individual states and have at least five (5) years of experience dealing with "at-risk" students as defined by the KMRIA mission statement.

Experience means active engagement in public education in teaching their discipline(s) to the children ages K-19 be it on a full time/part time basis, tutoring /mentoring, retired or in some other capacity requiring State certification in the particular discipline(s) as outlined above.

The teacher will ensure mastery in each of the sending school's required discipline(s) for graduation. This will include all of the units of work and the teacher may call upon the advice and assistance of other certified teachers in this regard. The bottom line is to achieve mastery in education, employment, and in the "life skills" by the conclusion of the student's term.

KMRIA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational corporation:
(a) Only the second one to be named without have any physical facilities
(b) Homebound instruction designed for the child whose physical, mental, or emotional needs are not met in the public schools
(c) We meet in local restaurants for dining and instruction. Our 'economic/socialization skills' or "feed the children" mandates that no child should have to learn on an empty stomach.
